New Year Message

I have now finished my official autobiography. It was going to be called `The Addictive Personality` because that is what I was born with (Fast drugs, David Bowie, Julie, The Kray Twins, George Best) they are my lifelong pleasures and addictions - but I`ve chosen `Cockney Rebel` because that is what I am.

This time after various false starts and legal interventions I have taken my time to do everything by the letter of the law.

I even obtained written permission from the Judge who previously tried to silence me.

I have also for the first time in my life listened to advice and been both self-critical and disciplined.

I have not written any extracts on Facebook or mentioned a word to anyone not involved in the project.

It was hard but worth it as `Cockney Rebel` will now be published legally and without any fear of prosecution.

All is revealed about what occured between 1990-2005 as I pointed out to the judge "I cant write an accurate account of my life without writing about my 15-year marrige".

I explained that a ban would be a bit like Geoff Hurst writing his autobiography and not mentioning his World Cup hat-trick.

I also pointed out that as a former punk rock singer and published author with a large fan base that I was a public figure.

The Judge said I could publish my life story as long as I didnt mention a certain novel or porn movie.
I agreed to this compromise.

I now have the letter framed and hanging on my wall.

But it`s Julie Taylor Johnson who features most - despite everything I still think of her as my soul mate/love of my life - as the truth is - whatever way you look at it - she gave me far more then she stole or took away.

Three things that money cant buy!

Like Fast Drugs, David Bowie, Punk Rock, The Kray Twins and Georgie Best she was a major influence on my life.

The fact is Cockney Rebel isnt a `whitewash` of me or a hatchet job on her - I just tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth.

Only two people get `both barrels` and are really `slaughtered` - them being my late dad and Julie`s boyfriend Richard Grimson.

As there aint no solicitors in Hell my dad cant sue - but Grimson can - if he wants to deny being a former pimp and a child abuser with a 15-year history of intimidating, threatening and bullying women & children then take me to court.

Many times I`ve dared Grimson to report me to the police for libel as I`d love nothing more then to expose the perverted bastard in open court.

Cockney Rebel also gives me the chance to clear up any confusion or misunderstandings that appeared in The Punk Poet.

The fact is some of the anecdotes in that book did not come directly from me. I was just the messenger.

a) It was not me who alleged that Julie worked as a pub stripper in 1988. It was Julie herself who made this claim.
At the time we were filming Dirty Dancing in which she performed various sexy dances dressed as a policewoman and St Trinians schoolgirl.
When I complimented her performance she said "I`ve done it before" adding "I worked as a pub stripper to buy a new car".
I didnt believe her and just thought she was talking dirty to get me going. I was not convinced that a nice girl like Julie could of of done such a slutty thing.

But I was contacted out-of-the-blue by some bloke called Nicholas Lightbown who claimed he knew Julie during her pub stripping days.
I thought it was a wind-up but he sent me his home address and phone number. I still wasnt convinced but he spoke to my friend Toni and convinced her.
This character knew what Julie looked like and that she was from Walthamstow.
I`m still not sure he is kosher but why would he contact me and how could he know so much about my ex-wife?

I sent him a picture of Julie in her underwear - not naked as he requested - I know it sounds daft by I couldnt betray her in that way.

After recieving the photograph Mr Lightbown confirmed `my Julie` was the Julie he knew in 1988.

2. I have no proof that Julie got pregnant in December 2004 - that was a claim made by her boyfriend Grimson. It was he who spoke about a visit to a Brentwood Clinic.

3. It was not me who claimed she contracted a sexual disease in January 2005 - that information comes from her personal medical records.
Documents given to me by my Divorce solicitors.

4. The same medical records confirm Julie started having Depo-Prevaro birth control injections in January 2005.

5. It was Grimson who boasted in phone calls that he at 10 Carswell Gardens Wickford took naked pictures of Julie on his mobile while she slept.

6. It was not me but a relative who caught Julie one Saturday afternoon in June 2005 half-naked and `at it` with Grimson.

7. It was Emma Grimson`s - the perverts common-law wife who told me they were `lovers` and living together at 10 Carswell Gardens Wickford.

8. It was a Mr Tussaud from Shotgate who told my relative about Julie and his brother-in-law Peter pud Tibbs.

9. It was a relative who told me about Julie kissing Ian Flemming and Aiden Doyle who said and I quote "I often saw Grimson with his hands all over her" adding "I wish I had told you Gal - but you know what its like you dont want to get involved"

10. And it was two other relatives who told me about Julie and supermarket snapper Vincent Hymas.

But everything else in Cockney Rebel from my days as a Schoolboy football star, teenage tearaway, punk rocker, porno film-maker, tabloid journo I can prove 100%.
